Welcome to Trinity! (Or, at least for now our website!) I’m Pastor Michael Croom. (Although when you’re a pastor, sometimes you lose your name and just become “Pastor!”) I’m the Senior Pastor and, right now, Sole Pastor of God’s family of faith at Trinity.
I’m so glad you’ve chosen to visit our site and hope that from here you choose to be our guest in person soon!
Trinity has a long history in Memphis. Founded in 1855, we’ve been here proclaiming the good news of forgiveness, life, and salvation in Jesus Christ and serving the Memphis and surrounding communities for almost 169 years!
As I hope you’ll see as you read more about us, experience, connect, and reflect are very important words for our ministry and mission at Trinity. There are lots of things you can experience if you come to Trinity, and there are a variety of ways to get involved and serve. Everything starts with Christ-centered, Scripture-rooted worship. There are our Connecting2Christ Sunday study groups (Sunday School and Bible Study) for all ages. You have the opportunity to experience and be a part of multi-cultural ministry and mission through our vibrant Hispanic ministry. We have Connecting2Christ small groups, including an up-and-coming Youth Group for Middle and High School-aged students; an active Young Adult Group; a Women’s Group made up of a faithful group of servants in our Naomi Circle, our Lutheran Women’s Missionary League (LWML) chapter; and an increasingly active Men’s Group!
Most importantly, with and through the community of faith at Trinity, you can experience a Real God, Real People, Real Grace!
At Trinity, we believe, teach, and confess that every person has need of a Savior from sin and death and that Jesus Christ is that Savior! At Trinity, Jesus is life! In connection with Christ, we confess that a Real God meets Real People in real ways with Real Grace!
To pose a very Lutheran question: What does this mean? It means that at Trinity you can experience the Real God, the one, true God. The Real God comes to us and for us in real, tangible ways in His Word and Sacraments. He comes for Real People – people, that is, who aren’t perfect. People with real joys, needs, and challenges. He comes with Real Grace - grace unearned, undeserved, freely given as a gift for Jesus’ sake! (Did I mention Jesus is life!?)
Coming to us with such amazing grace in Christ, God also works through us to reflect the love and grace of Jesus with others!
It is my hope and prayer that you will, indeed, come and be our guest! Come, and experience a Real God with Real Grace for your real life. Come, and experience the Lord and His gifts to us and for us, with us and through us!
I hope and pray you come but aren’t just a guest for long! Come, and connect to Christ and His community, His family of faith that He is gathering right here at Trinity Memphis!
